The Fountain Theatre presents al Cielo con Ella (To Heaven With Her) Flamenco Dance/Theatre with Traditional and Contemporary live Music, and spoken word.
al Cielo is a Theatrical Dance piece with live Flamenco and Contemporary Music, incorporating poetry and text, focusing on the Divine and Earthly feminine. This original program sets sensual Sufi and Hindu poetry alongside text from
the Maleus Maleficarum or "Witches Hammer," the "textbook" of the European/Spanish Inquisition Witch Trials. |

Contemplating in Music and Dance a slice of history at the root of the
existing rift between our worship and the lives we live, with regard to
women and things "feminine." As well as a reminder of the freedom of
possibilities we truly do have in regard to relationship with the "sacred," and understanding our fear of "the evil ones."
With rich collaborative choreographic work, this company is staging baile
(dance ) that spans the very traditional in Flamenco, to emerging
contemporary styles.
